The History of Gould's Birds
Newcastle Library is the custodian of a magnificent series of natural history books generally known as Gould’s Birds. Sue Ryan, Coordinator Local History at Newcastle Library, reveals the illustrated volumes, known for their artistic and scientific merit. Highlighted within the collection are illustrations of local birds, documented in the 1840s by John and Elizabeth Gould when they visited Newcastle.

About Coffee with Art
On the first Wednesday of the month, from February to November, enjoy morning tea and hear from artists, curators, designers and specialists in the visual arts.
Please note: Due to the Newcastle Art Gallery expansion project, this event will be held in the Hunter Room at Newcastle City Hall.
