Newcastle Art Gallery offers enriching exchanges with artists and deeper engagement with art through accessible experiences, ground-breaking temporary exhibitions and a world-class permanent collection in an iconic space.

We champion the work and practice of local, national, and internationally renowned artists and cultural practitioners through our ambitious exhibitions, public programs and events.

Our Gallery Guides play a vital role in making art accessible and meaningful. This dedicated volunteer team lead dynamic, thought-provoking tours that invite visitors to explore, interpret, and connect with art in new ways.

For over fifty years, the Gallery Guides have been an important link between the Art Gallery and our community, delivering over 300 tours each year that inspire and engage people of all backgrounds.

Now, as we prepare to welcome visitors into our newly expanded Gallery, we’re looking for more Guides to join our team. If you enjoy interaction with people of all backgrounds and would like to help visitors to interpret and connect to art through conversations, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now to become a Gallery Guide

Applications close at midnight 30 April 2025.

If you have any questions regarding your application, please reach out to the Newcastle Art Gallery Education Officer via [email protected].
