WISH YOU WERE HERE: landscapes from the collection
Free exhibition
This exhibition takes a scenic route through the Newcastle Art Gallery collection. Large scale immersive paintings fill the gallery space - some familiar, some fictitious, offering a unique adventure through the Australian landscape and beyond. Travel up icy mountains, along dark rocky cliffs, to sun soaked bushlands and out to the sea. A cultural holiday without leaving home.
Wish you were here features works of art drawn exclusively from the Newcastle Art Gallery collection by artists including Philip Wolfhagen, Mandy Martin, William Delafield Cook, Emily Kame Kngwarreye, Ryan Hoffmann, Daniel Walbidi, Ann Thomson, Chris Langlois and Vivienne Binns.
