About the artists:

Boycott is a femme punk band, out of Newcastle. Inspired by the political world, social justice matters, and observations in such a chaotic world, we’ve got a bit of everything in our music. Drawing inspiration from the punk classics, to post-modern, more avant-garde style music – something is bound to cater to everyone. We bring our values into our performances and lyrics, hoping to have a positive impact on all who view and listen to our work. Related Link: https://www.instagram.com/boycott.band/

Poet and artist Richard Tipping grew up in Adelaide and studied at Flinders University and later at the University of Technology, Sydney, completing both a masters and a doctoral degree. After a career in the film industry in the 70s and 80s, he worked as an academic in media arts at the University of Newcastle until 2010. Recently Tipping has opened an art gallery WordXimage in Maitland, specialising in word and image cross-overs in art. Related Link: www.wordximage.art

His sculptures incorporate original poetic texts in materials ranging from engraved stone and bricks to lightworks in neon and LED, and to large-scale public artworks in steel and aluminium. He is internationally recognised for altered sign designs and interventions across a practice for over forty years; and for subvertising graphics and visual poems which are held in the print departments of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the British Museum, London.
