About this Event
Art Cart is the Gallery’s regular all ages art making program themed around current exhibitions and special events. Led by Gallery educators, the program is designed to engage participants through discussion and hands-on activities. Activities can be simplified or made more complex depending on the participant.
To take part supervision is required by a parent or carer. There is a maximum of one parent or carer per participant as places are limited. Average duration: 30minutes.

Special Art Cart – Jasmine Craciun
Join us on Saturday 13th & Saturday 20th February 2021
Participants are invited to learn about Newcastle's traditional landscape and depict important local saltwater plants and animals with an art making activity hosted by Aboriginal artist Jasmine Craciun. Once your creations are completed, the artist Jasmine Craciun will bring them to life and recreate these responses as part of Pavilion of Sand, in development during the City of Newcastle’s inaugural New Annual festival for presentation later in the year.

About the artist:

My name is Jasmine Miikika Craciun. I’m a proud Barkindji, Malyangapa Woman who’s grown up in Newcastle. I have always had a love of art and design and graduated with bachelor of Visual Communication Design at The University of Newcastle in 2018. During my three years of study I also completed courses in animation, typography and natural history illustration. For the last three years I have been a freelancing graphic designer, Muralist and Multimedia artist.

Booking Information
When booking a spot via trybookings, please select the required number of tickets for each participant (child or baby) attending the session. When registering your child’s name as a participant, you can add the contact details of the parent or carer who will attend the session.

If participants do not arrive within the first ten minutes of the session, their booking may be given away to another participant. If we have not reached the total number of participants or we have any non-attendance, our Covid Safe Marshall may accept walk-ins for the program. In this instance the Covid Safe Marshall on duty will register the participants name and the parent/carer's contact details.
