Artist Commissions - Street Hoarding

EOI due: 11:59 Sunday 19 February 2023

Seeking expressions of interest

Newcastle Art Gallery is currently seeking expressions of interest from artists to develop new works of art for presentation on the construction hoarding along Laman and Darby Streets, around the site of our major Gallery expansion project.

This call out is open to all artists and collectives, local and national, established and emerging. Artists from all backgrounds and working in all mediums are encouraged to apply. Proposals are encouraged to respond to broad themes of renewal, past/present/future, change and anticipation.

Newcastle Art Gallery will collaborate with the selected artists to develop and produce a new digital print on vinyl to be presented on the construction hoarding. Support is available to assist successful applicants in adapting their work of art to fit this format.

Newcastle Art Gallery is being reimagined. The purpose-built expansion of Newcastle Art Gallery is designed by Clare Design and Smith & Tzannes to incorporate expanded facilities for public engagement, large scale displays of the world-class permanent collection, and a dynamic new artistic program. Find out more about the Newcastle Art Gallery Expansion Project.

Expressions of Interest open now until 11:59pm, Sunday 19 February 2023 . Apply now.
