To be part of Newcastle Region Art Gallery Foundation is to be part of the rich cultural heritage of our city. The Foundation was established in 1978 to purchase significant works of art. To date, this has resulted in the addition to the collection of more than 100 works of art, valued at over five million dollars.
By attracting corporate and community sponsorship, the Foundation has fostered wider appreciation of the visual arts in the Hunter Region. Through their generosity, the Gallery has been able to acquire many important and valuable works.
The key objectives of the Foundation are to:
- Harness interest and financial support for the benefit of the Gallery and its activities
- Help the Gallery to acquire significant works of art for its permanent collection and
- Assist the Gallery to continue its program of special and visiting exhibitions.
The Foundation offers three categories of membership to corporations and individuals. Donations are fully tax deductible and members are invited to openings and private viewings of exhibitions.
For more information about the Foundation, or to become a member, please contact Director Ron Ramsey on 02 4974 5100.
