An event coordinated and presented by the Newcastle Art Gallery Society.

Inspired by the rapidly growing international Slow Movement, advocating a cultural shift towards slowing down life's pace, Dr David Banney explores the concept of slow in music.

The 'slow' epithet has been applied to a variety of activities and aspects of culture and Newcastle Art Gallery Society invites you to an evening of ideas about slowing down.

Dr Banney is an educator and researcher and Co-Artistic Director of the Newcastle Music Festival, Co-Director of the Newcastle Cathedral College of Music and Artistic Director of Newcastle's Christ Church Camerata.
