Preschoolers - Eye Spy tours

Bookings taken through our  online booking form or call 4974 5100.

Designed for play groups, day cares, preschools and other little budding artists, these specially designed guided tours cultivate the curiosity and imagination of our youngest learners. Utilising tactile objects, music and play, our Gallery Guides provide an experience for little ones based on the Early Years Learning Framework, which includes outcomes such as skill building, observation and individuality. Plan your tour with our Audience Team to select options based on the age of your children, their interests and your group’s specific needs.

Eye Spy tours are connected with specific exhibitions (not all exhibitions on display in the Gallery spaces) and can be booked from 10am-4pm Tuesday to Sunday but not during school holiday periods. You must have a group of 5 or more children in order to book an Eye Spy tour.

Primary Students - Small group tours

For primary school aged students

Free, bookings required. Students must be accompanied by an adult, with a suggested ratio of 1:10
Bookings taken through our  online booking form or call 4974 5100.

Primary student groups encounter original works of art on Gallery guided tours that complement and enhance classroom learning. Together we break your students into small groups and provide them with a guide to take them around our spaces. They will take time to look carefully, ask questions, and develop their own interpretations of current exhibitions. Through open-ended discussion they will discover that questions seldom have a single answer and that works of art can possess multiple layers of meaning. Their shared endeavour, in which all voices are valued, becomes a powerful learning experience that will be memorable and meaningful.

Primary student tours are available for all exhibitions and can be booked from 10am-4pm Tuesday to Friday but not during school holiday periods. You must have a group of 5 or more students to book your tour.

Secondary students - Small group tours

For secondary school aged students

Free, bookings required. Students must be accompanied by an adult, with a suggested ratio of 1:15
Bookings taken through our  online booking form or call 4974 5100.

Our small-group guided tours are structured to allow older students to engage with our guides in a conversational walk around the gallery spaces. The tours are an excellent resource for secondary students as our guides have researched the exhibitions, artists and individual works of art on display and are able to answer questions, spur discussion and encourage independent thinking and inquiry when viewing the works of art in our exhibitions. Our guides can link their tours back to curriculum and broader ideas about the arts industry.

Secondary student tours are available for all exhibitions and can be booked from 10am-4pm Tuesday to Friday but not during school holiday periods. You must have a group of 5 or more students to book your tour.
